GUYS, MATATAGALAN PA LALABAS ANG BOARD EXAM RESULTS, AFTER 3-4 MONTHS PA. KAYA KUNG AKO SA INYO MAGTRABAHO MUNA KAYO KAHIT NA OR CALL CENTER AGENT WHILE WAITING.

DON’T GO INTO CALL CENTER
i’m not against working and being productive at some point where we needed most but a growing number of nurses nowadays are jumping off to diversed call centers across all major regions and after several months, can’t easily quit job only to realize that they’ve lot of mouths to feed now or can’t afford to lose luxuries they gained…

comment: it wont last long as it is set just for a short-lived bed of roses….

while some misinformed souls believe that by way of conversing with foreign toungue’s they would acquire fluency and authority of the language…

comment: you dont necessarily need to plunge it that hip industry today just to speak good english… if you came from a good institution, probably you’ve already been trained well and has fears gone-away in initiating your mouth to speak such foreign… or maybe other languages as mandarin, french, italian, spanish, etc…

though the only setback is: pay/compensation is usually high, that makes it very appealing especially to those who are really eager to make an income, and dreams of an independent life after school…

advice: practice what you’ve studied for… so,

here are better options you can do while waiting for your boardex results:
get some trainings: 1. BLS, 2. ECG interpretation and management, 3. ACLS (these are life-saving skills that may be required by some hsopitals before you will be given licensed to touch their patients… and also, employers would have an impression of your passion for further eduactiong and enhancing your skills that could be one of your great assets in your job hunt)
4. try volunteer works… take off creating contacts of hospitals and other agencies which offer opportunities for you to get an experience… check out your local place, like in some provinces, where they accept underboard nursing graduates to fill duties in the wards (of course, your function is limited to your capability as yet RNs)… say for example, mentorship program, or the Red Cross volunteer… or your school’s medical/dental/optometric missions… etc…
5. start moving your application for NCLEX-RN exam and do self-review as early as possible….

it may be rough roads for all of us, sacrificing to take care of patients without any pay (volunteerism) however. experience is way, way worthwhile…

I was wondering why you had published on the PRC’s and Google’s websites the Complete List of June 2008 Nursing Board Exam Passers when in fact the list is completely empty. The viewers cannot even access the link, which means it has not been updated as of yet.

This board exam was easy (not that I’ve taken it before)… all the way from test 1 – 5 was a breeze… hmm, makes me wonder why they made it so hard to apply… The Nov/Dec board exam will be hard/er methinks, since most of the big schools are going to take the NLE by then..

I totally agree with Ron on the call center thing… it won’t be beneficial on the long run… trust me… here’s the scenario, when you get to call center, your gonna start training for let’s say 1-2mos or 2-4mos with pay and would get into 1-3 year contracts (if your good or if the agency has the policy), regardless if you pass or not (if your chosen path is truly nursing), you’d be distract by a steadily increasing pay-out from your job in the call center, therefore, if you work long hours 4-6 days a week you won’t be able to train, review, take advanced courses, etc…

And Erika, your overreacted, since he has a major point when you get to that “American Dream” mode; your gonna get hooked easily by being paid already. Yes life is hard, but don’t make tougher by taking shortcuts, that’s the fundamental problem with most of us: We want to get rich quick; which is not impossible, but a lot less meaningful and least challenging.

For those who “think” or just “might” get into the passing cut, it’s not “reading everything” that’s important since you studied that for 3-5 years already, all you need to do is just do short reviews, update yourself often (especially for those who self-review), enroll yourself into a review center (they really help out a lot but I won’t say which review center for I am not endorsing any atm), and bombard yourself with practice on common board exam questions like

1. what is the color of the laughing gas tank?

a. blue
b. yellow
c. green
d black

*It’s definitely blue since internationally NO2/NO tanks are colored blue, good thing they didn’t put red because that would be the fire extinguisher… XD

MAY TOP 3 KAMI in the name of JICAR MAGBANUA who is a very good reviewer ng kaplan…TOP 4 – EMILY UBALDO na magiling na reviewer sa NGRTCI, etc….though di ganun kataas ang school passing percentage, still there are students who exert more effort of doing good rather putting them down..

ten students from adamson university took the june 2008 NLE..
We got a 91% passing rate last december 2007 with 89 students passing out of 98 who took the board. They were the first batch who took the NLE in the history of our school. And their batch turned out to be a tremendouse success… Hayyyy, kung di lang ako nagkasakit, nakasabay sana ako sa kanila….

It’s so sad na mkta mo ang mga kabatchmates mo na RN na, at ikaw napag iwanan.. hopefully, sana makapasa ako this june…. hayyy….

Im from UP Diliman and I’m so proud to belong to the 100% who passed with more than 100 takers for how many consecutive years na?..Eh, sa inyo?..Top 3 and top 4? When?.. 1970’s pa?, 1960’s or 1950’s..hehe..sorry ha..the morale is “enroll to a college or university who na hindi lng kayo pumasa @ nag graduate but PASS the NLE as well” The percentage results determines the capability of the school to produce QUALITY and COMPETENT nurses.. guys, di naman cguro gagawin ng bon yun.. besides impossible naman na ganun kababa yung passing rate… palagi namang may mga speculations, rumors theories, whatever you want to call it na kumakalat everytime na waiting ang mga NURSES sa results… we just have to believe in ourselves and assess if we really did our part last exam. to those who are stressed out, do not worry, passing is indeed good but there is not a single human being who didnt failed, the greatest people in history failed as well in their lives and look where they are now… remembered in the anals of history… the answer in whether or not we passed or failed the board exams is really within us kasi we can gauge ourselves and our performance last june. uhmm..m not sure about this, i just want it 2 b confirmed.isn’t the nursing of UP in UP MANILA and not in UP DILIMAN?unless up diliman suddenly opened a nursing course.aside from that, UP MANILA has less than a hundred nursing students because of their quota, ryt?at around 50 students i think? anyway, it really doesn’t matter what school u came from, the esssential thing is that u did ur part in studying well throughout ur college life and ur really passionate about the nursing profession. good luck and god bless 2 us all!!hope we all pass. =)

The waiting is what’s driving everybody crazy right now! You guys heard of the expression “It’s not the thought of death that scares you, it’s the anticipation of death”? I don’t want to be morbid, but that is what’s happening. The suspense is just killing us! But you know what folks, by the time the test results are released (hopefully it would be very soon), we would be so spent and tired by then that we just couldn’t care less of the outcome anymore. I happen to know of previous board takers in the past who was so stressed and completely zonked out from waiting that when the results were finally printed over the newspapers they just didn’t have the strength to jump for joy anymore (yes, they did pass). On the same token, those who weren’t that fortunate, they were just relieved that the waiting is finally over!! Bottom line, take it easy yow, cause whether we like it or not we will get there!! I’m no exception- for the first 3 weeks after taking the NLE, I had reoccurring nightmares of the board. I kept dreaming those items that really got to me!
Again, don’t get to worked- up thinking about it. Prayers can move mountains!

People, a little reminder- do not wait for the results to be published over the newspapers! Again, do not wait for the results to be published over the newspapers! Needless to say that if you are going to look for the results it’s a lot better to be present at the PRC itself where they are posted. Because once it is printed in the newspapers, you can never appeal for your grades again (if you are doubtful of the result). I’m not saying this will always work favorably for you, I’m just saying you can still find out your real grades once the results are out! At least you have a fighting chance if you feel there was a great injustice done to you. Always keep in mind that WE HAVE THE RIGHT TO KNOW OUR GRADES.

Dahil sa aking kakayahan at pinagaralan halos pag agawan ka ng mga banyaga at sa isang kisap mata lang ay halos kapareha mo na sila kahit kayumanggi ang kulay mo. Minsan napapatingin lang ako sa aking nakraaan, kung sumuko kaya ako saan ako ngaun pupulutin??? dahil sa tyaga namamayagpag ang aking pangalan sa mundo ko ngaun ginagalawan…MABUHAY TAYONG LAHAT!

Btw, most common cause of stroke is ischemia. Embolus affects the pulmonary, hemorrhagic is more on shock and thrombus is more on lower extremities pain (Homan sign remember?).

I was just browsing through the net and I just found out that an elevator repair person is the most highly paid blue collar worker in the US. If we don’t pan out as nurses (I hope not) we can always take a crash course in elevator repair and leave for the States! Who knows, it just might work out for us! Hehe! But seriously, highly technical or skilled workers really earn a good living abroad esp in the US! Unfortunately, the job of a caregiver falls as one of the worst paid job in the US. tsk-tsk. Nurses? they didn’t mention anything how much they are earning. But health care providers really make a hefty living in the US!

I just want to share my own views. I don’t find anything bad working in a call center or in any work unrelated to nursing or other medical field. SO LONG AS YOU KNOW YOUR PRIORITY, dude. In fact, experience is not really asked when you apply in the States. What really matters for them is that you pass all the examinations they would require you to take up… and of course, having the right connections. GOOD LUCK TO ALL OF US! I got this text message saying that the June 2008 result will be out in August 24? I think. Or maybe even later than that, just for the PRC to be sure that 60 something % who failed won’t retake this November. Oh men. GOD BLESS EVERYONE!

here’s how the PRC regulates the results of the board exam:

its impossible that 100% of the june takers will pass, kaya cla tinawag na Professional REGULATION Commission, they need to regulate the number of professionals in the country for our own good na rin! kasi tayo rin mahihirapan mag-hanap ng work kapag lahat tayo nakapasa.
** here’s how they regulate the passers, they set a percentage of board takers whom they will pass, for example only 40% will pass (take note: nde rn cla nag-papass ng 50% of board takers!) then from there mag-seset cla ng transmutation ng grades and dun nila kukunin ung mga papasa… naintindihan nio?? hahaha! naguluhan dn aq e… :P**

to TINA: kumuha ng board exam ang UST and UP so pdeng cla ang top performing school! hay! my nakasama kasi aq sa review center na mga taga-UP Manila and naka-sama q sa testing center mga taga-UST… share ko lang!

para sa mga masyado makapag-react whenever a person here say na nasa top cla, DON’T BE! instead, sabihin nio rn na top kau! THAT’S THE SECRET! positive thinking lagi dapat! ^_^v

HI! From what I read kc there are 3 kinds of stroke- Ischemic, Intracerebral and Subarachnoid Hemorrhage. Among the 3, Ischemic is the most common stroke. Now, Ischemic stroke can be subdivided further into 2 forms of stroke- thrombus and embolus. The most common of the 2 is thrombus. In short, thrombus stroke is another form of Ischemic stroke.

uhmmm based po kasi sa experince namin kc sa pre board namen sa pinag reviewhan ko… ung nag preboard po kme yung last dec board yung exam namin tapos ni ratio po xa eh d alam na namin kung ilan kame tapos nun nakita namenmga 10 items yung nabawas sa actual score yung chineck namin nung manual…ganun din po yung ginamit namin na answer sheet similar sa ginamit natin nung board…kea ayun d nko nagbura kc nadala ako dun sa pre board namin…one of my group mate pa nga his actual score is 370+ talaga out of 500 pero nun na check ng scantron machine 340+ na lang xa dahil sa nag erase ayun… share ko lang po…

buti nga kayo answer lng ang na bura.. ako answer at pati application number..yes, application number nga..kasi tanga ako..the proctor was so lame in giving instructions so i went on filling up not knwing u hace to put 08 before your application #..and i shaded already 3 boxes..duh!..pg fill-up plng mess na kaagad..but I prayed to God na HELPPPPP…ayon, pinabura sakin ng proctor..She told me that the ballpen written is not the issue in filling up but the one you shaded..I just made sure that I erased the lead of the pencil in the front part pti marka sa likod ng answer sheet binura ko rin, kasi it will affect daw..sapakin niyo nga ako guys…sa sobrang anxious ko, palpak tuloy..but I still believe in GOD to do miracles..I’m still claiming my prayers and that is to pass!..kkk?…

The souvenir program cost shall be Php 125.00 each. Kindly specify as well the Colleges covered by your Area Oathtaking for “complimentary souvenir programs”. We will likewise provide the same to the PRC Regional Offices, CHED Regional Offices and DOLE Regional Offices so kindly specify if for inclusion. Freight cost shall be borne by the oathtaking host organizer.

(3) For purposes of better synchronicity and organization we advise all our oathtaking host-partners to keep communications open through the undersigned Oathtaking Chair for this season through the following:

– Telephone/Fax through our PRC Central Office at P. Paredes St., Sampaloc, Manila (as shown above);
– The BoN website: http://www.bonphilippines.org

We wish to have a good documentation as well of all oathtaking ceremonies conducted nationwide hence the need for our host-partners to submit documentation reports in the form of:
(1) Clean/clear copy of your Oathtaking Program
(2) Pictorials (only the significant parts of the program)

The BoN awaits those who have not yet submitted their Dates of Oathtaking. For Areas where no BoN has been assigned kindly advise the BoN through the undersigned ASAP if you will be the one to request or the BoN will assign whom to send.

(2) The BoN will prepare a “Generic” Souvenir Program which shall also be applicable for Regional Oathtaking Ceremonies. Kindly send your reservations on or before July 31, 2008. The souvenir program cost shall be Php 125.00 each. Kindly specify as well the Colleges covered by your Area Oathtaking for “complimentary souvenir programs”. We will likewise provide the same to the PRC Regional Offices, CHED Regional Offices and DOLE Regional Offices so kindly specify if for inclusion. Freight cost shall be borne by the oathtaking host organizer.

(3) For purposes of better synchronicity and organization we advise all our oathtaking host-partners to keep communications open through the undersigned Oathtaking Chair for this season through the following:

– Telephone/Fax through our PRC Central Office at P. Paredes St., Sampaloc, Manila (as shown above);
– The BoN website: http://www.bonphilippines.org

We wish to have a good documentation as well of all oathtaking ceremonies conducted nationwide hence the need for our host-partners to submit documentation reports in the form of:
(1) Clean/clear copy of your Oathtaking Program
(2) Pictorials (only the significant parts of the program)

This may be sent via “hard copy” or better yet via electronic copy through e-mail.

ei cheng skulm8 heheh ask lng me wat ba sagot dun sa direct expense un patient care ba?? sagot ko kc sa direct expense un yata mga tools needed for the hospital tpos ung indirect expense ko un patient la lng naalala ko lng pakisagot na dn mameh tpos ung sa prostate exam sabi sa review center ko eh litothomy daw pero dorsal yata cnagot ko hehe pasaway eh noh

heheh dami ko naalala questions tpos ung sa nsg research dn ung sa computation ni round off nyo ba un sample size yata un or hindi

ron, i don’t think your helping here with your comments, if you don’t like the idea of nurses working for the call center, then just shut it..because some wants to help their parents or support their families hile still waiting for the result..i beleive your just speaking for yourself, let them do whatever they want..you can’t blame them if they don’t want to practice their nursing carrer anymore because they are earning alot, it’s an opportunity for them, and they want it, so let them be, and get over it…FYI, being able to speak english, is not just from the institution you came from..IT depends on the students.

kung nagbura, be sure na di kumalat yong pinagburahan niyo. Kasi posibleng more than one sagot niyo sa isang item dahil sa “carbon” na kumalat at ma-sense ito ng computer ng prc. Pero kung staedler ginamit ninyong pambura, okay dahil sa dumudikit ang carbon sa eraser.

i remember questions but not choices..i can remember my answers nalang..

1. what is the purpose of the cuff in a tracheostomy tube
sumthing like a it is a seal, prevents leakage and aspiration. ang sagot ay nasa kozier word for word.

2. how do you know if illiterate ang isang tao?
test mu if he can read and write

3. best way to provide information to an illiterate?
use pictures..i read it in kozier

i remember chemo..at meron pang tanong ilang percentage daw ang survival rate nang mga nagkacancer na bata at an early age..at i can’t remember my answer…

hala feeling kuh lumulutang katawan kuh…haist ayan n ang result…i can feel it!!!

hi…im a june2008 nsg exam taker also..im kinda nervous din..pano ba grading/scoring system sa prc para makapasa?75% pa rin ba passing?thanks..bukas na ba talaga?sure na ba un?wer can we see it kaya?kc kahit madaling araw palang pupuntahan ko na ung site na un!ahahahaha..excited ba ako?d naman maxado..

ang pagkakaalam ko sa july 20 pa e..sabi kc ng lola ng bf ko..may kilala kc un sa prc..this week daw lalabas or by next week..pero d ko lng sure kung 22o ung tomorow..sana lumabas na para d na nakakakaba..sabi ng classmate ko 30% lng daw nakapasa e..lola kc nia dating member ng board ng prc..sana naman hndi 22o un..
