Is there some errors in the situational questions particullarly in Prof. Educ.?

there were really errors on set b. those were particularly the cases where you need to answer questions refering to the said case or situation. napagbaligtad yung cases kaya sobrang nakakagulo sa nagexam. remeber na time-pressured yung test kya no one thought of na mngyayari yun sa test paper. wala ring nagakala na makakalusot yun sa PRC board or kung sino mang namamahala sa pagcheck ng test papers bago pa iyon ipagamit sa mga examinees..understandable pa yung naulit na questions kasi bka strategy yun ng pagverify kung alam mo b tlga yung mga sinagot mo at hndi ka lng nanghula…pero ang pagkapalit ng cases pagkatapos ay may mga tanung patungkol dun ay maling mali.

grbe….sa mga math major jan…..alam nio na marami mali sa math items di ba? ireklamo natin.. halimbawa.. y=6x squared. then what is y???? meron bang gnyan? mali mali questions….d din alam ng proctor kung pede sulatan ung “e” if ever walang sagot..

Yay!…mali talaga dun sa SET B. Avoid erasures pa man din, but wala akong magaw, mali talaga yung ma sagot mo if hindi mo alam na mali yung case sa mga pinapagpilian… Hay naku PRC talaga napaka UNPROFESSIONAL. dapat URC nalang ang pangalan nyo!

kaya sila lumabas kasi ang mga nasa board of professional teachers puro galing PNU pati ang chairman dating president ng PNU. Talagang ganun, love your own.

Kaialn raw ba malalaman ang result? After one month pa ba?

grabe yung exam sa prof ed. i just remember last saturday sa last items na sinagutan ko dun hidi ko na msyado nabasa yung mga tanung kasi almost timeup na nun 1:30 may mga 10 minutes nalang kami bao ipasa yung test papers, kasi naman tanghali na kami nakapag simula sa gen ed halos 9:00AM na ata, late na late na..hindi katulad nung ibang room eh nagsisimula na kami ag didistribute palang nang mga questioneers..hayyyy a out of time kami kinulang nang oras dahil sa late na kami nag start..kakainis, puro hula tuloy yung naisagot ko sa last items nang prof. ed. ni hindi ko nabasa nga eh….hayyyy….. LORD sana pumasa naman kahit papano..kaw na po ang nakakaalam sayo ko na din po ipinapaubaya ang pag pasa naming lahat na aspiring maging guro in future.

Running out of time na talaga sa Prof. Ed.may naulit nga na testquestions dun, technique yun siguro ng PRC how consisten we are sa answer natin.. I am certain that there are items came out from our review..but the questions slightly different being asked there. but I still thankful atleast man lang may mga items lumabas and from other handouts din..nakakatuwa naman kahit more or less 20 items may lumabas din.it was worth review, I felt excited to get home immediately to highlighten the test items that came out on the exam. But di pa din mi talaga sigurado if I’ll pass, but I keep praying sana..may mga items talaga na my error sa set B we referred it to our proctor wala din silang rights to make it right kasi nga policy yun! :D

I feel anxious of the result pero sana man lang maging fair ang PRC sa atin na my items na walang sagot talaga doon, kaya letter E sagot ko..because errelevant kasi yung item na yon. Do you think guys I’m wrong that I shaded letter E? Sabi kasi ng ibang examinees dapat di mi nag answer eh wala sa choises . Di na mi makatulog nga ng maayos eh..Kahit sa major namin I noticed din may errelevant items din doon :(

Sa mga proctors po na high tempered huwag na man po kayo ganyan maam, pag ang examinee ask more questions to clarify on your intructions please naman po answer us politely and keep calm kasi macarried away yong examinees sa ka hightone ng boses nyo matetense po kami lalo! Instead explain mo nalang sana eh ayun tuloy nalito na. be polite to us po! lagi mo kasi maam pinapagalitan yung isang examinee, na te tense na nga po sya , pinapagalitan mo pa hay naku!

Have you noticed that the majorship exam for English and Literature focused more on masscom? 80% of the test items was about it, and the remaining 20% was on linguistics and literature.
Do you guys think it’s fair?
Well, did they change our major on that very day of the examination?
BSE major in Masscom?
It’s really part of our major’s program, but duh!!!
It shouldn’t be like that!
I wish PRC had checked the test items before they used as questionnaire for LET.

kahit nga sa set A napakarami ring problema. Many questions have no answers tlaga..at ang naka2inis pa ay maraming mga stupid questions na hindi mo talaga maeexpect na lalabas…ano ba to lukuhan?! dapat sana yung may mga sense na questions yung theories dapat..at eto pa sa measurement bakit halos lahat ng questions about standard deviation!!!
we are meant to be teachers not NSO personnel…..i think the goverment must look into the performance of PRC.. they are not effective!!!!!!!!! naka2hiya parang limited lang ang alam ng mga examiners sa theories…….avoid stupid questions cause the test-takers are not stupid!

ei guyz, is 8 really true that erasures will invalidate ur answers?
i had some erasures coz i left one number blank, i didnt notice it b4 proceeding 2 the nxt items.. so when i found it out, i made some adjustments w/ my answers…

i’m so worried bout that… i’m juz holding on to the power of prayer.

My other worry is bout the system of submission..

in my case, all of the examinees’ answer sheets were put in one envelope only… how can it be identified when it doesnt even have our names or our serial numbers written? unless it is code encrypted or it was juz invsible w/ the naked eye…

wen i asked my friends assigned 2 other rooms bout this, they told m that wen they submitted their answer sheets, it was placed inside their own envelopes.

guys who had the set B exam….. ilang instances ba nangyari yung pinagpalit-palit yung choices from one number to the other? is it twice lang o maraming beses tlaga???… hindi kasi ako natapos sumakit ang ulo ko in the middle of the exam, hindi na tlaga ako makabasa kc dark nlang lahat ang nakikita ko.. more than 70 questions were left unanswered…i know i got only very slim chance to pass…totoo bang my removal?

SET B din ako. Disappointed talaga ko nung malaman kong may mali sa exam.. in prof ed….TEACHER X, TEACHER F… im not sure, pero muka ngang walang sagot ung ibang items sa math or d ko lang talaga nakuha ung tama. But 1 thing is for sure.. cumlaude ako at nakamamatay malamang d ako papasa just because of that. D ko alam kung cno ang dapat sisihin..dahil nangyari na. Im just hoping na makapasa ako. Walang patid na panalangin. Sa totoo lang may nakakapasa kahit hindi deserving magturo. I mean, yun bang walang kalatuy-latoy. Dapat may practical din para patas..magkaalaman na.

There are only two sides of the coin: “pass or fail”..In my case I am not expecting too much that ill pass. Hindi na man sa pagyayabang pro i dont find Prof ED difficult, minalas lang tlaga ako kasi hindi ko natapos ang xsam sumakit kasi ang ulo ko hindi nako makabasa.. More than 70 questions ang hindi ko nabasa i just answered “C” sa remaining 70 questions kc time is up na nga.. Dont wori too much guys kung tutuosin your much luckier pa nga, mas malaki ang chance nyong pumasa.

hindi na rin ako umaasa na makakapasa…mahirap nang masaktan..huhuhu.. I took my CTP at review sa PNU. To those claiming na maraming lumabas galing sa reviewer ng PNU, Gano ba karami ang tinutukoy..in my personal experience, meron talaga..pero hindi naman marami. compared sa 200 items exam,. for me marami is more than 20. for others more than 10. so it depends sa taong nagsasalita kung ano yung madami. yung natatandaan ko less than 5 ata sa lahat na yun ha or around 5, basta, Prof at gen.ed lang. kasi sa business tech, hindi ko matandaan kung may lumabas eh. siguro 1-2 lang if any or hindi ko talaga matandaan. Nga pala SET A kasi ako, so if maraming lumabas sa SET B, well sorry na lang sakin kasi hindi ako nabiyayan sa SET A..huhuhuhu

Sana madami makapasa ngayon. Sana mas mababa ang makuha na highest score kasi diba norm ref ang gagamitin nila. Sana…Pray nalang tayo, that’s the only thing that can help us now.

Ive heard that also. It’s really unfair for us. My friends told me also na pareho exam nung April 2008 sa ngayon. Dapat gumawa ng aksyon ang PRC. Bawal ang distribution ng previous exams, bakit may mga lumalabas na OLD exams?! Ang daya! Nagiging mandaraya na ba ang mga Teachers ngayon?!

yaan nyo na yung mga nandaya…kung meron man. di naman maaapektuhan yung score nyo o yung buong result ng exam nyo. beside, kanya-kanyang abilidad yun..kung maganda ang pinakita mo e di papasa ka. tsaka magagamit niyo ang mga pinag-aralan at mga ni-review niyo sa mga future na tasks nyo. unlike yung mga nandaya baka sa isang departamento lang sila mapunta dahil di nila kayang makipagsabayan sa inyong mga hindi nandaya.

Hi to all who took the exam! Yeah, I agree with you guys n mrmi talagang pgkakamali. I’m one of the Set B’s. I wasn’t able able to complain that time because in the first place, it’s time pressured. Added the fact that I thought it’s just part of some “tricky questions”. But later did I realize that the answers are not really confusing, the truth is,there were items na wla tlagang tamang sagot. Sa Math,there is one item n ngtatanong about the “perfect square thing”, i reviwed it over and over again but there were two options n perfect square and the other way around.

To those concerned people,
I hope, you can do something about it. I’m not talking for myself alone.I’m also concerned about the others who took the exam. I understand what they feel.

But I can also understand you guys,”Everbody is entitled to a mistake”!

I’m just hoping for the best!

I thanked God for the success of our LET. I just give all my best and offer to our God who knows everything. I am a first taker so I will just leave it to Him. Everything has a reason so don’t worry about it, if you have faith in Him, you will accept whatever happens in our exam result. I am sure that God will not let us down or failed our ambitions if this is meant for us. I do believed that He let us finished our course so no wonder that He will also give this to us as long as it is beneficial for the welfares of others in the future.

The only thing we can do is PRAY, that may His Holy Spirit help the people behind the exam and for us who took the test to pass. Let us not lose our hope, I know how difficult the test was, but we can do nothing but follow their policies and remember nobody is perfect so let us not blame anyone. We do not know why they made the test like that or maybe they have a purpose to test our knowledge and ability in comprehending such questions. I do respect all comments. Thanks.

Collateral Inadequacy, Inefficiency and Unreliability

The process of landing a job here in our country as a professional teacher is so messed-up that qualified teacher-to-be are resorting on easy-to-land jobs which anyway pays higher…

If I am teaching at a private school right now, I would just earn more or less 8k a month with tax not yet deducted…

But, I am working as a call center agent and I easily earn 16k a month with tax already deducted…

I landed the job without much fuss- no go there-go here, no pay this-pay that, and no “palakasan”…

See!

How can we go on aspiring for the profession that we love if the very organizations and persons that are supposed to back-up us are the ones making life harder for us…

And they’ve got the guts on making blames and pointing fingers about teachers that are supposed to be in classrooms but are somewhere else?…

dont blame ur reviewers if they told you to focus on literature. its all PRC’s fault check their table of specification for english….literature has the biggest way 35% linguistics 25% reading 15% masscom 10% and others are 10%, 10%…how come 70%-80% of the test in english was from Masscom.

In our case, the proctors were fine. I took the exam at Riverside College – Bacolod. Sadly, the exam was tough. I did not expect that Gen. Ed. would not be that GENERAL at all. Prof. Ed. was even tougher. And the Majoring in Math was worst. I’m thankful that I had a calculator so I finished the exam at least 5 minutes before the time alloted. Haay…mahirap talaga ang exam. I can’t believe it! I’m just clinging to my and our prayers! God Bless Us All!

and major ko nga pala is physical science.. dami ding walang sagot??

how could the test questions be reliable enough to measure your competence and stock knowledge mo sa four years in college kung ang mga questions ay yun din nireview mo by verbatim..

At saka dba sabi dapat 6:30 nasa skul na tau bakit ang mga proctor natin ang tagal dumating sana makapagsimula tau ng maaga kaso ang tagal nilang dumating tapos minamadali taung mga nag exams tama ba yon?
Pero kahit ganun ang nangyari sa exam natin panalangin natin na sana makapasa taung lahat…. God Knows Everything.

Ed. at Prof. Ed, ndi marami, tokis lang yun nila na naiiggit sa PNU…heheheh peace.. kasi kung marami, edi hindi ako naghihimutok kasama niyo. sa Major naman, hindi ko alam sa kanila, kasi yung sa Major ko. yung official n binigay n reviewer, wala akong matandaang lumabas. yung my lumabas man na iba, mga 3 lang ata yun. hindi ko alam kung kanino galing ung reviewer, kasi galing pa ata sa mga baul ng mga kapatid ng mga kasama kong naboard dati. meron din silang reviewer, mga 2005 pa ata yun.

Kung nadalian man yung iba, doesnt mean na may leakage ang PNU. moreso, stored knowledge din sila nagrely. or niloloko lang kayo or mayabang lang talaga un mga yun. hehehe.. Pero ok naman ang review sa PNU…pero mas okay yung lectures during my stay there, dun ako kumuha ng knowledge mostly. Pati mga classmates ko dun, nagnosebleed din.

FYI, aside sa review sa PNU, masipag din kasi mga students dun maggroup study at mangulit at maghabol sa mga profs na very accommodating para magpaturo. heheheh….that maybe the reason why yung iba nadalian.

Yung iba kasi nagdidive na sa kung ano anung conclusions against the school. kung nahirapan kayo don’t blame the school sa misfortune niyo. Guys I passed the board in 2004. Would you believe the school had all the hopes in me putting the institution on the map, if would have been ashamed of me if I had failed the exam. But hey I had to set my expectation, either pass or fail, i knew it wouldn’t end there. Yeah I remembered, it was tough I was a chemistry-physics major and the exam was suited for general science majors. At least I had the advantage of one subject than most. Anyway, non of that I’m not here to tell my story I’m here to invite you guys if you fail to work in the call center industry; hey even if you pass as well. It’s good money and it’s a great oppurtunity to put that hard earned 4 yr or more educ to the test. Mabuhay ang UEP. I’m also waiting for the results for some kababayan of mine and it has been a week!

How could you say that only 40% had passed the exam? Does PRC published already the result?

Ive’ read most of the messages you guys have posted and i thought i was the only one who felt such yet am not. Somehow, it’s gives me a good riddance considering that i’m not alone in the gloomy path. Nevertheless, i am sad. I’m sad because numerous of us feel the same way and it only means one thing-lots of us are comatosed (50-50). It would be very disappointing if lots of us will fail. Low ratings would speak much. You know what i mean.

As of now, i’m really scared. Who woudn’t be anyway? however, i’m constantly assuring myself that things will come into their proper places. I believe that despite my imperfections, i have done my part and am allowing God to do whatever He wants. In the end, it’s always His will be done.

To my co-examinees, let’s continue to pray.
Congratulations to all of us and let’s thank God for giving us the chance to be where we are right now. To God be the glory!!!

Mostly ng tanong ay Kumarivalu’s Approaches in Language Teaching. Siguro about 45-60 % yon.

hai sa laht! i have also took the LET last september and mhirap taga xa. ahmm, i have taken BS Applied Physics sa UP DILIMAN then after, kumuha ako ng CTP sa PNU. Well, during my sa PNU, nkikita ko tlaga na napakasipag ng mga students dun. I know and we know na mas matataas ang IQ ng mga tga UP Compared sa mga tga ibang school. Pero sa PNU, nkita ko ung persistence and patience ng mga students and professors. Npakasipag nila mga-aral. sobra. so mga ngagalit sa PNU, wag naman po sana kaung ganyan. sa mga nayayabangan sa ibang mga students nlia, yaan niyo sila. basta wag niyo lang idadamay ung school. mgaling ksi tlaga. kahit ako ng galing sa UP ay npahanga din sa mga students nila. so sana! makapasa taun lahat! kaya natin to. god would bless us!

Yeah English major is hard. Di ko maalala mga sagot ko. Sana pumasa tayo. Kelangan ng magagaling na teachers ang bansa natin ngayon. To PRC, bilisan nyo nman kelangan na namin yung lisensya para mkapag apply na at magtrabaho.

PNU is the only “center for excellence” when in comes to education. Hindo ako graduate ng PNU, 18 units lang kinuha ko dun, ni hindi rin ako dun nag review. self-review lang ako nitong nakalipas na LET. But i know na marami akong natutunan sa PNU. With respect sa ibang institution, PNU talaga ang the best sa education.

Gosh! I think most of our teachers should undergo an English grammar lesson. I’m so ashamed for their comment. Where are we now teachers… Pababa na ba masyado ang quality teachers. I can’t imagine na may mga passers na nagtuturo na hindi man lang marunong magcompose ng one sentence na correct ang grammar. Sorry. I’m just expressing my thoughts. As teachers, lets improve ourselves for our students and for the country. PEACE :)

if you are all responsible (PRC) bakit hindi kau makapaglagay ng exact date, because that should have been included on your comprehensive goal plan every year na be more efficient by being faster and accurate on your exam results. Ung ibang courses they were table to get results faster we knew that unlike other courses mas madami ang aspiring teachers but 2-3 wiks is enough.

You don’t say “I love Apple” right bu “I love apples”, “ashamed for” is also not acceptable, it should be “ashamed of” and “comment” should “comment’ in connection with the example I posted above. heres how they get the passers. not only in the let bt also in other courses w/ board exam…
the PRC, its Phil Regulation Comm. regulates the number of license professional. they c to it that the demand of prof domestic and abroad meets their numbers. wlang labis walang kulang.. so base on ME.. she/he has a point. let say the demand requires 2500 teachers, and there 6000 examinees, then thats it, top 2500 examinee passed and the rest failed wether those 2500 meets their standard w/c is 75% or not, they will make an adjustment to that.. actually konti lng un pumapasa tlaga coz sobra mhirap ang exam, and take note, minsan mali ang tanong, minsan ala un sagot s mga choices and other similar scenerio.. ay mali! d pla minsan un.. lagi pla. khit san board exam nangyayari un. like s engineering.. hehehe, naexpirience ko n kc un gqanun during my engineering board… well i will depend on u if u believe me or not. but thats the way i know it…

Question lang po. Bakit po magkakaiba ang tagal ng pag rerelease nyo ng results. Napansin ko po kasi na ung ibang fields, within the week na nag take sila ng board, nakukuha na agad nila result. I understand po na depende rin un sa dami ng nagti take. Of course, kung 500 lang nag take, im sure kinabukasan o sa isang araw, may result na.

But mayroon po talagang mga fields na ang bilis nyung ni re release. Like as in the case of CPA Board, I know, marami rin nag ti take ng CPA but within the week after nung exam nila, nakukuha na nila agad result. I knw about it because I have friends na kumukuha ng CPA, and nalalaman nila agad result. Could you enlighten us kung bakit ganun?

first and foremost i wud like to comment sa mga test question.its to easy para sagutan but beware my mga question na akla mo un ang sagot hindi pala..like nung sa lesson plan ung objectives is about sa digestive system peo ang nadicuss is about sa circulatory system,at isa pa my mga current events cila kaya ako di nagreview it finds me diffucult lalo kung mas madami pako aicipin..some questions talaga ai madali instinct nalang case to case basis naman ang question.. kya natin lets hope lahat pumasa kasi next year ibang set na.. at different average na daw mga 80% ang passing grade dapat,kaya ganun kadali ung exam nila..lets hope na maawa cila at walang cut off sa lahat ng mapasa..

Basing the results from April of 2008 the Sept results should fall by the end of this month, if not; 1st week of November. But the sooner the better, aint it? are you sure n 45 days pa ung result? bt nung april 2 weeks lng my result n bt ngyn ang tgal. dhil ba mali mali ang ang bngy n xam. mrming mali s test kya ung iba alang sgot o kya mali ung pgkaconstruct ng question..sna nman mpancin ng prc ung gnwa nla. kaya mrming di nka2psa kc kht tma ung sgot nmin mali sa prc…grbe nman ang prc…khalating buwn na ala pa rin result….to the prc personnel release the result n….

there’s definitely something wrong with questions on set b. the questions don’t match the situations of teacher x and teacher y!!! ..and there are lots of it!!! even the proctors can’t do anything about the errors. my gosh, i had to keep on rereading the situations. the proctors can’t even do anything about the errors…

I hope Prc takes note of this.

Seriously, im just one of those examinees na desperate maka pass. For us kasi, the longer na naghihintay kami, the longer the agony kaya the only way to ease our agony is to know the result ASAP so we can move on to teh next chapter of our life. GETZ?

Hopefulyl, may result na next week. If we are going to base yung duration ng pag release ng result last April, IT TOOK ONLY 24 DAYS at lumabas na result. Hopefully, same din ngaun. Same din naman ang dami ng nag take ng exam.
